Who We Are

Our Journey in
Pakistan

Our involvement in Pakistan began in the wake of the devastating 2005 earthquake, which claimed 80,000 lives and left 3.5 million people homeless. We have been instrumental in emergency response, recovery, and rehabilitation efforts. From 2005 to 2010, we focused on reconstructing and rehabilitating damaged schools in the KP province and AJK state. Following the floods of 2010, we restored 79 temporary school buildings and provided vital educational support in KP Province.

KnK Japan has spearheaded remarkable projects to improve education access, quality, and governance, particularly in KP Province and State AJK. Thousands of girls have benefitted through the upgrading of primary schools to higher secondary levels, the formation of community-based girls’ schools, and their subsequent transformation into formal secondary schools under various governmental bodies. In District Torghar alone—a region with historically low literacy rates—we’ve established five girls’ secondary schools in just 3-4 years. This represents a monumental step forward and serves as a heartfelt gesture from the people of Japan to the people of Pakistan.
