Our Journey in
Pakistan

Kokkyo naki Kodomotachi (KnK) Japan, founded in 1997, is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to supporting underprivileged children and communities across seven countries, including Pakistan. Since 2005, KnK Japan has been a trusted partner of the Government of Pakistan, actively responding to major disasters and pioneering resilient, climate-adaptive solutions in education, infrastructure, and WASH.

KnK Japan has constructed over 300 disaster-resilient public schools, integrating structural retrofitting, clean water access, and renewable energy solutions to create safe and sustainable learning environments. With a strong track record in structural health assessments, school retrofitting, and climate-resilient infrastructure, KnK Japan has recently expanded its focus to integrating digital education, STEM learning, and clean drinking water solutions to empower communities.

As an accredited organization with ERRA, NDRMF, ISO, and the Pakistan Center for Philanthropy (PCP), KnK Japan ensures transparency, technical excellence, and long-term sustainability in all its interventions.

Responding to Emerging Challenges with Impact and Innovation

KnK Japan continues to evolve in response to the complex challenges faced by communities across Pakistan. From emergency relief to long-term development, our interventions are driven by a commitment to resilience, equity, and sustainability.

KnK Japan has broadened its scope to address the growing impacts of climate change, with a strategic focus on climate-resilient public infrastructure, community-based disaster preparedness, and the promotion of green building materials. Our projects aim to reduce vulnerability and enhance the adaptive capacity of marginalized populations across all regions of Pakistan.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, KnK Japan stood with frontline institutions supporting hospitals, public offices, and at-risk communities with critical healthcare supplies, safety kits, and awareness campaigns.

In parallel, our sustained efforts in School and Community WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) have improved access to clean water and safe sanitation for thousands, with a special focus on gender-sensitive facilities and hygiene education.

Following the catastrophic floods of 2022–2023, KnK Japan swiftly responded by delivering emergency shelters, non-food items (NFIs), and WASH services in flood-affected areas, helping displaced families regain dignity and security.

Our current programmatic sectors include:
